Tucson, AZ – Arizona absolutely demolished a Sun Devils team that looks to be getting worse with each passing year. The Territorial Cup is staying in Tucson, and looks to be there for a long time. Because of Turnovers, a terrible secondary, and a lack of a run defense. Arizona was able to hang 40 points on them at the end of the first half. Selmon, Abdullah, and Robinson didn’t play a down in the second half. On the defensive side of the ball, Rick Spicer didn’t see any action in the second half either.

The game was notable because Josh Selmon set the career record for passing TDs with his 85th strike. Incredible, considering he’s only a redshirt Sophmore. Of course Justin Abdullah made the catch to break the record. Abdullah will find him in New York in the next few weeks as he is the #2 contender for the Heisman, hopefully it will not be a heart break like last year when he set every NCAA recieving record and finished 2nd in Heisman voting. The Heisman ceremony will be recorded and posted to RPT.

Arizona has won the Pac Ten for the 4th straight year and has virtually no hope of landing in the National Title game, in spite of only losing once all year. Many are grumbling about how Arizona’s one loss to a tough Washington team dropped them out of the top ten, might have been unfair to the two time defending national champions.

There has been some talk about adding Alabama to the schedule to play for this trophy, although more than likely the prize will be a year’s supply of Coffee Crisp for the team and the Canadian AD’s of both programs.
