zelmancal2012.jpgTucson, AZ – With three prized recruits in attendance, Arizona needed a decisive victory to help woo them to Tucson. Perhaps as his final gift to the Wildcats, Josh Zelman played one of the best games of any QB in College Football. He was 19/23 for 353 yards and 4 TDs, including one stretch where he completed 12 passes in a row. He was named Pac Ten Offensive Player of the week.

The Wildcats defense also looked strong with a goalline stand in the first quarter that set the tone for the whole game. They were aggresive, relentless and punished Cal’s RBs.

The Bears were able to score on some cheap long bombs and flukes, including one score against the second string.

The game also marked the return of Jonathan Hagler from injuries, putting Mark Jean back on the bench. His return was marked by Joel Little going over 100 yards, and scoring a TD.

Also of note, Jason Weaver and and Eric Washington both scored TDs. Weaver appears to be a shoe in for the Freshman All-American team.

Greg Brock played well, again, and dropped a SICK stiff arm against a Cal Player (pictured) and took it all the way for TD.  He is definitely going to be a late round NFL draft pick probably by the Broncos or Colts.

The Wildcats remains as #1 in the BCS, but are #2 in the Media and #3 in the Coaches – right now there is a big problem as West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Alabama, and Arizona are all undefeated. The next few weeks should be interesting.
