weavertdoregon.jpgEugene, OR – In a game that featured over 100 points, and 1000 yards of total Offense, the Arizona Wildcats emerged wiht a decisive 58-34 victory and a fourth quarter played almost entirely by the second string.

Offensively, Josh Zelman was solid 11/21 for 279 yards with 4 TDs and one interception.  He did suffer through some drops from some recievers, and really could have had a better game.

“They are young,” said Zelman after the game.  “But talented eventually they will be.”

Jason Weaver had 4 catches, 98 yards, and three TDs but two drops.  He went over 1000 yards for the season and caught his 10th TD – making his case for Freshman All American and even regular All American.  He made an insane catch in the back of the endzone (pictured).

“Try to redshirt me?” said Weaver after the game.  “TRY AND REDSHIRT ME?  Can you even imagine?  We’d be playing in the god damn Humanitarian Bowl, and I don’t deal with the cold.”

His comments has all but assured him being drafted by the Packers or the Bills.

On the ground, Joel Little had 88 yards and a TD, while Nick Spencer continued his fumblitis with three more on the ground.

Defensively John Lewis is still a psycho with six tackles, and Keron Davis had 2 picks including one brought back for a TD.  Josh Powell also nabbed a pick.

However, some things about the Arizona team were exposed in this game.  Namely, running five wide forces the team to use it’s young secondary in Nickle and Dime packages.  Oregon’s Thomas Sims  was 27/42 for 422 yards and 5 TDs in the loss.  Although a number of the TDs were cheap.
