Corvallis, OR – In a torrential downpour, the Arizona Wildcats mounted an unlikely comeback on the heels of some outstanding defense to steal a 38-31 win over the Oregon State Beavers.

The game did not start well as Brent Robinson fumbled first play of the game, which gave Oregon State the ball at the 20 yard line.

“It was slippery,” said Robinson after the game, though some unnamed teammates referred to him as a “little bitch wh

o should learn how to hold onto a ball, it’s not hard.”

Oregon State scored quickly and jumped to a 7-0 lead.  After a Jon Floyd muffed punt return, Oregon State found themselves inside the 20 again, and scored again giving themselves a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

A Brent Robinson interception, gave Oregon State it’s 3rd turnover inside the 20 yard line and they looked like they were ready to score again.  But an errant pass was picked off by linebacker Reggie Hu

ghes (pictured) who brought the ball back 93 yards for the score to cut the lead to 14-7.splashosu2017.jpg

The game was back and forth, with Ryan Parrish and Alan Barron both scoring receiving TDs.

Oregon’s offense was strong, and just kept getting first downs, exhausting the UofA Defense.  But eventually, they got sloppy and the Wildcats capitalized, holding on for the victory.

The excited team, doused Coach Stoops with Gatorade to celebrate the comeback win.

“It was raining,” said Stoops.  “I was already wet, what was the point?”

Many believe a booster on the sideline had egged on the team.
